How the calculator works

Per-serving calories, macros, %DV, allergens and a label.
Mealary parses each ingredient line, converts household measures (cups, tablespoons, ounces) into grams using ingredient-specific densities, looks up the food in USDA FoodData Central, sums the nutrients, and divides by your serving count. The result is rounded per the FDA’s 21 CFR 101.9 rules so it matches a real Nutrition Facts panel.
